SPECIAL EDITION COVER DESIGN + MARKETING GRAPHICS | NGI | JANUARY 2025
In early January 2025, I was tasked with creating an original design for the cover, table of contents, and marketing materials for a special edition of NGI’s All News Access newsletter, based on the title Fueling the Future.

PROCESS
Brainstorming Phase
In this initial phase, I referenced the past few special edition designs (bottom left) to make sure to keep things on-brand, while searching for images & concepts (top) to use for inspiration in this new design.
I also searched for other magazine cover designs that had similar themes, so that I could find a way to make this one stand out.
As I worked to refine my idea, I added versions to this board so that I could compare the images side-by-side and make adjustments.
First Pass vs Final Design
After I sent over the initial concept for this design (left) the editorial team decided that an image of the White House would fit better with the themes of the stories within the newsletter than the image of the Capitol Building, and so I replaced this part of the design, during revisions, and adjusted the proportions of the other elements to maintain balance in the design (right).
